Biography

My journey into education began while I was finishing my degree in Computer Science in Colombia. I started working at Colegio Panamericano, where I supported the tech department and quickly found myself collaborating with teachers, helping them integrate tech into their classrooms. It didn't take long for me to be inspired by the selfless dedication of the educators around me, and I found great joy in watching students thrive through engaging, purposeful learning. This early experience opened the door for me to become a technology teacher, and I was lucky to be supported by mentors and principals who coached me and believed in my potential. Through them, I learned that education is a deeply collaborative and communal field, one where people lift each other up. That community spirit is what has kept me in education.

After completing my degree, my family and I moved to Bogotá, where I joined Colegio Nueva Granada as a Comp Science teacher and Tech Coach. I developed a passion for helping students use technology creatively and meaningfully, while also supporting teachers in innovative practices. I took on my first leadership role and learned that true leadership is rooted in service, an opportunity to foster those very communities I admire so much.
That desire to grow and contribute to a global educational community led us to take a leap and move overseas. We spent five years in China, at Beijing International Bilingual Academy, immersed in a rich, multicultural environment. This experience changed us forever personally and professionally. I continued teaching and working closely with administrators, which allowed me to contribute on both instructional and strategic levels.

Our international journey took us to Indonesia, where I joined Jakarta Intercultural School as a High School Computer Science teacher. There, I experienced collaborative planning within my subject for the first time. It was a rewarding experience that made me a stronger educator and teammate.
Currently, I work in Saudi Arabia at The KAUST School, where I serve as the PK–12 Comp Science Coordinator and teach High School CS. In this role, I lead curriculum development, support teachers across divisions, and continue to teach, a combination I find fulfilling. I've worked on school-based AI regulatory committees helping my school earn an external RAIL certification, reflecting my belief in ethical, inclusive, and strategic technology use.

Along the way, I've discovered new passions; diving, underwater robotics, and I love bringing those interests into the classroom. I believe in the power of student voice, experiential learning, and humane, inclusive technology. I advocate for innovative uses of tech to break down barriers, empower learners, and foster ethical digital citizenship. I also enjoy being on the administrative side of tech helping shape the strategic vision of the schools I serve and supporting growth through clear systems and leadership.
My family is at the heart of everything I do. My husband and I have two children; our oldest is married and living independently, our youngest is still with us in grade 9. We've embraced our international life together, exploring new cultures, and growing as a family. I'm a proud Spanish speaker and love sharing my culture through dance and cooking. I believe education has the power to transform lives, and I hope to continue contributing to a school community that values innovation, student leadership, diversity, and service.
